Steve Hawkins started his Metalwork in 1975. As a native Texan, he incorporates the "Spirit of Texas" into his work. He never studied art professionally, but his technical background contributed to his unique attention to form, detail, color, and balance. From the intricately balanced mobiles, to flowing copper fountains, and whimsical cowboys and longhorns, his talent and creativity are obvious.
Steve has been a part of numerous Art Shows, Festivals, and Trade Shows including:The State Fair of Texas, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Fort Worth Livestock Show and Rodeo, Grapefest of Grapevine Texas, The Addison Artfest, Bayou City Artfest, City Arts Dallas, Plano Balloon Festival, and The Red River Revel in Shreveport, La. He even appeared on TV in "LIVE" with Regis & Kathy Lee in 1992.
Steve created "The Metal Shop" in the Dallas Landmark,"The Olla Podrida Marketplace" in 1992. The American Welding Society has recognized Steve as one of the Top Ten Metalworking Artist in the United States.
